Are you ready to go on a Trek?
The Wi-Fi community is awesome.
Nothing new there right?
Well, hold on. What makes us awesome is that we care for one another and try to help each other when we get the chance. We also love to share our experiences and knowledge. This is one of the reason why I started the Wi-Fi Pros Slack channel. Everyday hundreds of professionals can exchange on life, tech and everything else. Many have found solutions, some have found friends and others have found jobs. I’m really happy to know it brings us all together.
Another thing that bring us together are the various conferences through the year. The next one coming, in a little more than two weeks, is CWNP’s Wi-Fi Trek. You’ve heard me speak of the Trek before, it is a vendor- neutral conference which offers you the chance to share your knowledge around the themes covered in CWNP certifications. There is the option to take a bootcamp and test with the conference too, which allows you to maximize your experience and your time.
Last year, during the trek:
- 8 took the CWS/CWT
- 56 took and passed CWNA
- 12 took and passed CWAP
- 28 took and passed CWDP
- 18 took and passed CWSP
63% of the people who attended were new attendees, with new ideas and and experiences to share.
This year, with Laura Chappell offering the opening keynote and in the wake of the recently uncovered flaws in WPA3, security will be at the forefront of a lot of attendees. A new version of CWSP is also due this fall. For those interested, I believe it will be the first time that the new version of the class is offered. Same thing for CWSA, which I plan to take.
Join me, Ms Chappell, Tom Carpenter, Bob Friday, Peter Mackenzie, Keith Parsons and many other speakers in Nashville this September!
p.s. CWNP has bumped the value of my coupon for the Trek. Register with coupon MAE10 and get 15% off both bootcamp and conference!
p.p.s: If you’d like an invite to our awesome Slack channel, dm me on Twitter or add a comment to this post!
